Polar assist fire brigade emergency operations
PRESS RELEASE – 28 Oct 2002

On the day that the first day of industrial action was due to start, Polar Computer Communications, a Computer Network Consultancy based in Hart St. Henley-on-Thames announced that they have successfully deployed contingency operations networks on behalf of Bedfordshire & Luton Fire and Rescue Service.

The modern fire service has a high dependency upon computerized systems to control operations. With the likelihood that fire stations may be picketed during any industrial action, it is an unacceptable risk that centralized data and services may not be available. Polar has deployed equipment for contingency operations at multiple sites in Bedfordshire.

“It is slightly strange that we are deploying services on behalf of Bedfordshire as opposed to Henley, however our engineers are used to deploying networks around the world, so Bedfordshire is practically on our doorstep.” Commented James Reay from Polar.
